Founder, CEOMasayuki Sakai
Graduated from Waseda University in 1997
Earned an MBA from Globis Management School in 2009
In 2014, Mr. Sakai established CO2O Corporation, where he served as CEO for about 10 years, developing the business in evaluating and diagnosing solar power plants (over 5GW) and in O&M/asset management (over 1GW), nurturing it into a leading technology company with the top market share in Japan. In May 2023, the business was transitioned to CO2OS Corporation, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Daiwa Securities Group's Daiwa Energy & Infrastructure Co. Ltd., through a company split method (EXIT).
With major domestic financial institutions, electric power companies, utility companies, and infrastructure funds as his main clients, Mr. Sakai employed over 100 staff, including certified electricians. He solved many issues for solar power plants as a technical solution company in the renewable energy industry.
He also contributed significantly to the standardization of rules for power plant operations, evaluation diagnostics, and the concept of asset management within the industry, thereby aiding in numerous project financings of power plants by major capitals.
Mr. Sakai worked in the entertainment industry before venturing into the renewable energy industry. In 2007, he founded Value Plus Inc. (a subsidiary of Memory-Tech Corporation), undertaking new business ventures such as DVD and CD debugging, call center operations, and mail-order business, securing contracts from major Hollywood studios and leading domestic record companies, and significantly growing each business.
As a serial entrepreneur, he currently serves as an external director and advisor for several companies, sharing his experience and knowledge to nurture the next generation of entrepreneurs and business leaders.
In December 2023, he founded Battery Plus Inc., embarking on a new challenge to globally expand the battery storage business.
